Distressrutor .:. Distress ink window

Confession time: I had never made a distress ink window before I saw this challenge at #CiLiPysslaTillsammans but game on! I ended up making four different creations and I have already decided to make more. It is addictive! And a very easy way to create a stunning detail to your creation.

The first one I made by cutting a  stencil from some acetate. It worked well but it was a bit tricky to keep it on the same place when adding the mask. Now I have gotten some stamping mask paper and that makes it so much easier. I will also try Purple tape in the future.

Jag måste erkänna att jag aldrig hade provat att göra en Distressruta innan jag såg den här utmaningen på #CiLiPysslaTillsammans men självklart var jag tvungen att prova. Och så glad jag är att jag provade! Det är så effektfullt och enkelt att få en vacker detalj. Jag kommer definitivt att fortsätta att använda tekniken.

Första gången skar jag ut en ruta/stencil från en OH-plast/transparency men nu har jag skaffat bättre grejer som gör livet enklare med stamping mask paper. Man kan också använda Purple tape och det ska jag testa nästa gång.

Hi dear friends!

Anna here with you today sharing a new project of inspiration with you. I’ve been playing with some left over acrylic paint from another project and a few lovely pieces from the Simple Stories I Am collection.

Anna här idag med er för att dela lite ny inspiration. Jag har lekt loss med lite överbliven akrylfärg från ett annat projekt och några härliga grejer från Simple Stories I Am collection.

Those green circles are made smooshing Lids from Pringles crisps, with my left over paint diluted with water, on to my paper. Also I made some splatters using the left over paint using a brush.

Dom gröna cirklarna gjorde jag genom att smoosha lock från Pringles chips, med den överblivna färgen utspädd med vatten, direkt på mitt papper. Jag gjorde även lite stänk med en pensel och den överblivna färgen.

Busan .:. Art journaling with Bubble Technique .:. Simple Stories .:. Simple Vintage Garden District

Oh this is a special day! My DD turned 12 today! Happy Birthday dear A – love you to the moon and back!

I made this art journaling spread using the Bubble technique that Vicki Boutin showed in one of her video tutorials. I made it a few weeks back when me and my DT-collegue Karin at CiLi in PAPERS had a cyber-scrap-date. Then I added some heavy gesso to stencils from Vicki Boutin. I stamped also with a few random stamps and the stamps from the Simple Vintage Garden District collection. I decorated with the same – still my favorite collection from Simple Stories.

Idag är ingen vanlig dag, för idag är det Alvas födelsedag! Min älskade dotter fyller 12 år – älskar dig mer än du kan föreställa dig!

Jag har gjort en art journal-sida med en bakgrund gjord med bubbeltekniken som Vicki Boutin visade i en av sina videotutorials och som jag och DT-kollegan på CiLi in PAPERS testade i en cyber-scrap-date. Så kul vi hade! Sen la jag på gesso med stenciler från Vicki Boutin. Jag har stämplat med lite olika stämplar men också med stämpeln som ingår i Simple Vintage Garden District-kollektionen från Simple Stories – älskar den fortfarande!

I made a page using the fun Bubbles Technique as shown by Vicki Boutin – Love your art Vicki! I like using good quality acrylic paint to get good distinct visible bubbles so I used paint from Dina Wakley and Dylusions.

I decorated with the Simple Vintage Garden District Collection by Simple Stories – another one of my favorites.

The photo is from last summer at Almedalen which unfortunately will not be on this year. We had a great time with lots of interesting speeches and loads of networking and also getting together with some good friends.

Jag har gjort en layout med Vicki Boutins bubbelteknik – ÄLSKAR Vickis alla underbara idéer! Jag vill helst använda färg med hög kvalitet för att få distinkta och väl synliga bubblor så jag använde färg från Dina Wakley och Dylusions,

Jag har dekorerat med min favvokollektion Simple Vintage Garden District Collection från Simple Stories.

Fotot är från förra sommaren i Almedalen. Det var suprspännande med massor av intressanta föreläsningar, massor av nätverkande och jag lyckades också träffa fina vänner!

Simple Stories I Am – A 6×8 double spread by Anna

Hi dear ones! Hope everything is doing well with you and your family in this crazy corona-time. At least you can scrap without worries about social distancing, lol!

Anyway I have a 6×8 double spread for you here today. hope you’ll like it. I’ve been playing around with the beautiful I Am collection by Simple Stories and  also made some light Mixed Media using a few fabulous Scribble Sticks by Dina Wakely, Ranger Ink. And of cours I’ve made a few stitches using my sewing machine.

Hej fina ni! Hoppas allt är väl med er och er familj i dessa galna corona-tider. Åtminstone kan man scrappa utan att behöva tänka på att hålla avståndet till varandra, haha!

Hur som helst, jag har ett 6×8 dubbeluppslag för er här idag. Jag har lekt med den fina I Am kollektionen av Simple Stories och även gjort lite light mixed media med hjälp av några härliga Scribble Sticks av Dina Wakely, Ranger Ink. Såklart har det blivit några stygn med symaskinen också.

These Scribble Sticks are actually solid acrylic paint. They are like crayons. You just scribble them on your chosen surface ( mine are white cardstock with a already dryed layer of  clear gesso) and then add water using a brush. Play around until you’re happy with it.

Dom här Scribble Sticksen är egentligen solid akrylfärg. Det är liksom kritor. Du bara skissar med dom på din valda yta (min är vanlig cardstock med ett redan torkat lager av clear gesso) och använd sedan vatten och pensel för att lösa upp färgen. lek på tills du känner dig nöjd.

Simple Stories I Am – Two Cards by Anna

Hi dear ones! Anna here with you sharing some new inpiration using the beautiful I Am collection by Simple Stories yet again. My backgrounds are made with the left over paint from my layout last week. I had my different color on lids from Pringles tubes so I just used them as kind of stamps and pressed them on my white cardstock. It was enough paint left for two cards. I love when I can use up every single bit. I decorated my cards using stickers from the Sticker Book and Die Cut pieces and i finished them of using Nuvo Crystal Drops in three different colors.

Hej fina vänner! Anna här med er idag för att dela ett par kort där jag än en gång använt den fina I Am kollektionen av Simple Stories. Bakgrunderna är skapade med den färg som blev över från förra veckans layout. Jag hade dom olika kulörerna på lock från Pringles-rör så jag använde dom som stämplar och liksom pressade dom på mitt cardstock. Det fanns färg kvar för två kort. Jag gillar verkligen då jag kan använda upp varenda droppe. Jag dekorerade mina kort med stickers från Sticker Book och Die Cut’s sedan avslutade jag med Nuvo Crystal Drops i tre olika färger.

I Am Loved – Simple Stories I Am collecion – Layout by Anna

I’m back sharing another colorful creation with you today. This time Ive been inspired by my dear friend and DT-colleague Lisa, she is super talented. She’s a master using different mixed media pieces and I got so inspired using a few acrylic paints on my background for a change. All papers and pieces are by the beautiful Smple Stories collection , I Am. Hope you’ll like it.

Jag är tillbaka med ännu en färgglad kreation idag. Jag har inspirerats av min fina vän och DT-kollega Lisa som för övrigt är superduktig. Hon är en mästare på olika mixed media grejer och jag blev så inspirerad att använda lite härlig akrylfärg till min bakgrund som omväxling. Alla papper och små delar kommer från den härliga Simple Stories kollektionen, I Am. Hoppas ni kommer att gilla det ni ser!

Layered tags using .:. Simple Vintage Garden District by Simple Stories

Do you like layering and mixed media? I do! On these tags I have been working with lots and lots of different layers. Sometimes when I do that I hesitate to cover up a previous layer because I want it all to show but this time I challenged myself. The two tags differ a bit but this is more or less the receipe:

The first layer on the tag is just some color brush strokes. Then I added a few stripes of pattern paper from the Simple Vintage Garden District by Simple Stories using matte gel. Then I added gesso. Next step was stamping. On top of the stamping I used some acrylic paint and a stencil to pick up some of the color. On top of that color through another stencil. Then heavy weight gesso through a third stencil. Then I used a fourth stencil with some distress ink on one tag and distress oxide ink on the other. I added some more gesso with a palette knife. After that I filled a Fine tip Glue Applicator with black gesso mixed with water. I used this to draw/paint the black stripes on the tag. I let the tag dry between all layers. I added some Simple Vintage Garden District decorations and then as a finish I used some organza ribbon and a decorative brad on the top of the tag. So in the end I used 12 different layers and it was so fun!

Gillar du lager på lager och mixed media? Det gör jag! På de här två taggarna har jag arbetet med massor av olika lager. Ibland tycker jag att det är svårt att arbeta med lager på lager eftersom jag tycker att det är synd att dölja de enskilda lagerna. Men den här gången bestämde jag mig för att utmana mig själv att använda massa av olika lager! De två tagsen är lite olika men detta är mer eller mindre receptet:

Först penslade jag på lite färg på vit cardstock. Sen har jag applicerat mönstrat papper från Simple Vintage Garden District by Simple Stories med matt gel. Sen penslade jag på tunt med gesso. Nästa lager består av stämpling. På det har jag använt akrylfärg där jag torkat bort en del av färgen genom en stencil. Med nästa stencil la jag på mer akrylfärg. Jag använde heavy weight gesso genom en tredje stencil. På den fjärde stencilen använde jag distress ink. Sen mer gesso som jag la på med en  palettkniv. Efter det fyllde jag en Fine tip Glue Applicator med svart gesso blandat med vatten och ritade linjer. Jag lät taggen torka emellan de olika lagren. Jag dekorerade med dekorationer från Simple Vintage Garden District-kollektionen. Till slut använde jag organza band och brads på toppen av taggen. Det blev 12 lager till slut och det var så kul!
