I have mixed all sorts of goodies on the art journaling page. Watercolor markers from Vicki Boutin, lovely tissue papers by Dina Wakley and embellishments from Paige Evans Horizon. Love it!

Christmas Cards with Memory Box Snowflakes

I think it’s fun to limit myself to just a few items, even if I don’t really have to. But it’s challenging and fun, and in this case I planned to do four different cards, but using the same products. Leftover pieces from one card was the beginning of next card and nothing gets waste. This is extra fun when you need a bunch of cards, but don’t want to do all the same. The whole idea started with inspiration from an autumn card my dt-colleague Anna Uhras made earlier this fall.

Jag tycker det är lite skoj att begränsa mig till några få produkter, även om jag egentligen inte behöver. Men det är utmanande och roligt och i det här fallet så planerade jag att göra fyra olika kort, men med samma produkter. Överblivna bitar från första kortet blev början till nästa osv, och inget behöver gå till spillo. Detta är extra roligt när man behöver en bunt kort, men inte vill göra alla lika. Idén startade med inspiration från ett höstkort som min dt-kollega Anna Uhras gjort tidigare i höstas.

I made another art journaling spread with a new set of colors. When I prepped the background it was a bit too bright for my taste so I used some heavy white gesso to mat it down. And then I added some stamping. In the end it goes well with the photo and the phrase Boldly dare to be a POP OF COLOR in a black and white world I think.
I used the Watercolor Markers from Vicki Boutin and the Color Kaliedoscope collection. I based my journal on a Insert book from Dylusions.

Jag har gjort en ny artjournalingsida. Den här gången har jag använt nya färger och när jag var klar med dem kändes de lite för starka för min smak så jag använde vit heavy gesso med en mask och stämplar för att matta ner färgerna lite. Men den passar väldigt bra med fotot och frasen Boldly dare to be a POP OF COLOR in a black and white world tycker jag. Jag har använt Watercolor Markers från Vicki Boutin och även hennes Color Kalidoscope-kollektion. Jag har använt min artjournal från Dylusions som bas.

It was so fun making the art journaling page last week so I made a few more and today I am showing one of them. I am sticking to the concept of combining the Watercolor Markers with stamping and the lovely Color Kaleidoscope collection from Vicki Boutin. Love love love it! This time I have also added some white gesso on a Tim Holtz stencil. I always add photos to my art journal and I stick to my style.

Jag tyckte att det var så kul att göra art journaling i förra vecka så jag har gjort ett par uppslag till. Den första visar jag idag. Jag fortsätter att kombinera Watercolor Markers med Color Kaleidoscope-kollektionen från Vicki Boutin. Älskar det! Den här gången har jag också använt heavy vit Gesso och en Tim Holtz-stencil Min stil är att jag alltid har foton på min art journaling.

Hello! I have made myself an art journaling page using the fun Watercolor Markers from Vicki Boutin. Love that they have so much pigment and are so easy to use. This time I dropped some on an acrylic block and just smeared onto the page. No water added. I used a Dylusions Dyalog Insert for my page. Love the format! And some stamps added of course.

Hej jag har gjort en artjournal sida med de fina och roliga att använda Watercolor Markers från Vicki Boutin. Älskar att de har så mycket pigment och att de är så lättanvända. Den här gången droppade jag bara lite på ett akrylblock och smetade på sidan. Inget vatten alls. Jag har använt en Dylusions Dyalog Insert som grund för min sida. Älskar formatet!   Också har jag stämplat så klart!

Today we are going bright and colorful together with some black and white!
I’ve used Finnabairs liquid Acrylics for the background. On top of it I painted the black and white border with acrylic color and added flowers and words.

Idag kör vi på med lite klatchiga färger tillsammans med svart och vitt!
Jag har använt mig av Finnabairs liquid Acrylics till bakgrunden. Ovan på den har jag sedan målat dit den svart-vita ramen med akrylfärg som täcker, och även klistrat dit blommor och text.

Hello Handsome – with Distress Oxide Spray

It’s fun to use The Distress Oxide Sprays from Ranger in the art journal too. When I use them I start with a layer of gesso, and in this case I used clear. When the gesso was dry I sprayed pretty heavy with the two colors of spray and let them blend a bit together. At the edges of the color I sprayed some water to blend out a bit more. It also gives the matt oxide look of the background. Since it’s much wet media it start pooling in the middle, so you have to be pretty quick drying with your het gun or with some paper. I do both, and try to dry it with heat more then I take off the page.

Some structure is given by splashing the same two colors and let dry + splashing plain water to have the bleched dots. Figures are just stenciled in and some random stamping are made in the background.

Det är riktigt skoj att leka med Distress Oxide Sprays från Ranger i Art journalen. När jag gör så här med sprayerna, börjar jag ofta med ett lager gesso, och i det här fallet blev det clear. När Gesson har torkat sprayar jag på rätt rikligt med ett par färger och låter dom blandas lite. I kanterna av färgen sprayar jag vatten för att få det att flyta ut lite mer åt kanterna. Det blir rätt blött och rinnigt så man får vara snabb med att torka bakgrunden med hjälp av embossingfön och lite papper. Jag försöker göra båda, men mest med värme för att inte ta bort allt för mkt färg från sidan.

Mer struktur genom att stänka samma två färger ovanpå bakgrunden, samt även vanligt vatten som bleker ur lite. Figurerna är en stencil och jag har stöpplat färg från en stämpeldyna och även stämplat lite planlöst på bakgrunden.

Hi!
Another week comes to an end. I keep working in my Jumpstart Journal. I made the background with Dylusions paint. I used Tim Holtz Mini blending tool to aply the paints. When it was dry I used stencils to layer more paint and patterns.

Ännu en vecka går mot sitt slut. Jag har fortsatt att arbeta i min Jumpstart Journal. Jag gjorde bakgrunden med Dylusions färger som jag applicerade med Tim Holtz mini blending tool. När allt hade torkat så byggde jag lager med mer färg och stenciler.

The next step was to spray some nice shimmer sprays in the background.

Nästa steg var att spraya lite härlig shimmer spray på bakgrunden.

I stamped som loveliness which I then highlighted some of the impressions with Dylusions paint pens.

Jag stämplade lite härlighet på sidorna. Efter det förstärkte jag trycken lite med Dylusions paint pens.

Hi!
Well, I can finally make a blogpost where I can share my new found love with Dylusions. I am sure that a lot of you out there share my obsession. There is now a brand with us that I am sure that you will be happy about.

Nu kan jag äntligen göra ett blogginlägg där jag kan dela med mig av min nya förälskelse för Dylusions. Jag är säker på att det finns många av er där ute som delar min besatthet. Vi har nu ett märke hos oss som jag är säker på att ni blir riktigt nöjda med.

I took a class for Dyan Reaveley in Phoenix in January. What can I say, I was instantly  hooked. What you see in the photo is a Jumpstart Journal. That means that there already is some art on one of the pages in a spread. You can leave it as is or keep working on it for your self. A great start for a beginner like me.

Jag gick på en kurs för Dyan Reaveley i Phoenix i januari. Vad kan jag säga om det, jag fastnade hårt direkt. Det ni ser på bilden är en Jumpstart Journal. Det betyder att en av sidorna på ett uppslag redan har konst. Man kan lämna sidan som den är eller jobba vidare på den själv. Detta är en perfekt start för en nybörjare som jag.

I made the background with different Dylusions paint, a gel plate and a brayer. Then I used a stencil, white paint, some different stamps, some Dylusions paint pens and some Shimmer Spray.

Jag gjorde bakgrunden med hjälp av några olika färger från Dylusion, en gel plate och en roller. Sedan använde jag en mask, vit färg, några olika stämplar, några Dylusion paint pens och lite Shimmer Spray.
