Merry Christmas to you!

Christmas Eve and I have wished for a wintery and snowy landscape. So I decorated a small house from Sizzix. Placed the house in a small dome from Tim Holtz. In the dome, there is a place for a tree and a glittery reindeer. Snowflake paste from Finnabair with some Confetti from Nuvo to make the extra glittery and snowy effect.

Believe in the Magic – Art Journal

The day before Christmas, at least for us here in Sweden since we celebrate December 24th. I just had to try these poinsettias out in my Art Journal, and it went pretty well I think, don’t you? I’ve used several red Tim Holtz paint for the background, deleted some color through the poinsettia stencil with a damp cloth. Dried it all and stamped some words here and there. I stamped and embossed the big Poinsettias in gold and then colored them in with one of the red paints. I added a border of black branches and the big bold sentense and also made a shadow around the poinsettias to make them stand out a bit more.

Dan’ före dopparedan’! Tänk att vi har kommit till julen. Det är lite en lite märklig känsla, dels för att det inte är ett smack julstämning utan snö och dels för att världen är som den här. Men vi kanske kan hoppas på ett litet julmirakel trots allt? Idag har jag gått all in med Julstjärnor, både i stämplad form och från en stencil. Jag började med bakgrunden i olika röda nyanser av Tim Holtz paint. Innan det var helt torrt gnuggade jag bort färg genom Julstjärnestencilen på vissa ställen. Därefter torkade jag sidan helt. Sedan stämplade jag lite texter på bakgrunden och även dom stora julstjärnorna som jag sedan embossade i guld. Jag målade i alla julstjärnor med en av de röda färgerna och skuggade runt kanten för att få dom att poppa upp lite extra. En ram av en kvist och den stora texten stämplades i svart för att lyftast fram.

Vicki Boutin Storyteller .:. ATC .: using the Bubble Technique

Christmas can be prepared in nontraditional colors. Here comes a tag with mould pieces glued with heavy body gel. There are also some pebbles and a Christmas tree on the top. Everything is painted over with effect paste and rust paste.

ATC .:. Year of CORONA 2020 .:. Simple Stories Quarantined

This year is not just any year, it is the year of CORONA 2020. Most thins are not good and many people have suffered a lot. Many of us have friends and family that have been ill and some of us even know someone that did not make it through this year. What do you do when all is awful? Well, I like to try and see the good amongst the bad. Family time, time for scrapbooking, presens with our dear pets and time for reflection. I do long for this time to be all over but maybe we can take something with us into our new normal future. Therefore I want to document and this time I have chosen the Quarantined collection by Simple Stories. I also used an ATC die from Waffle Flower.

Detta året är inget vanligt år. Det är ett CORONA-år. Det mesta är sämre i år och många har lidit mycket och många nära och kära har varit sjuka och många känner någon som dessutom inte klarat det här året. Vad gör man då när allt är hemskt? Försöker hitta positiva saker i tillvaron. Familjetid, scrapptid, husdjurstid och tid för reflektion. Det ska bli skönt när tiden är över men kanske kan vi ta med oss något till det nya normala. Därför vill jag också dokumentera och det gör jag den här gången med ATC-kort med kollektionen Quarantined från Simple Stories. Jag har också använt en ATC-die från Waffle Flower.

Time for  Christmas gift wrapping!

Then it is time for tags. Some small tags with paperdolls that have a layer of embossing glaze from Tim Holtz. The tags are painted with metallic paint and gesso to make a fine texture, pattern in the background.

I think this journal spread can represent whole 2020 – alone we can do so little. Even though we can’t be together we must help each other in this. I’ve used Acrylics, Washi Tape, Collage paper and a stencil from Tim Holtz and Collage paper, Stencil, Glossy Spray and Stamps from Dina Wakley. Modeling Paste and Impasto Paint from Prima.
